Our Flights Our normal flight is a 1 ½ hour experience including briefing, fitting you with a flight suit, showing you the aircraft, explaining your role in the flight and strapping you into the aircraft.  We have about 40 minutes in the aircraft (approx. 30 minutes in the air).  Cost $370 per person We can have a cruise over the city, and your house if you wish, and/or we can let rip with the manoeuvres – it’s up to you. Moves We offer a range of manoeuvres such as chandelles, wingovers, loops, barrel rolls, half Cubans and roll off the top or immellmann turns.The exact combination depends upon the conditions on the day and what YOU wish to do. We are happy to undertake a “gentle” flight down the Tamar River with sweeping turns, or towards the high ground of Ben Lomond. Alternatively we can go for the moves with up to 4 times the force of gravity. You Still Want More?  Longer flights can be catered for if you wish to extend your experience.  Maybe an adventure flight over the Central Plateau or East Coast of Tasmania. In an adventure flight of just over one hour we can track over the Central Plateau, past the Walls of Jerusalem, Mt Ossa and Cradle Mountain with our aerobatic manoeuvres on the way back (aerobatics are of course optional).  All this for only $580.    DVD's We have onboard video cameras to capture your experience.  Amaze your friends and family……   Only $99 extra Gift Vouchers Gift vouchers are available for our flights.  Call us for details. Extra Options Do you have friends and family that wish to get a closer look at your experience?  They can join us in the air in a state of the art aircraft, a Cirrus SR20.  Our linked business is Southern Sky Air Services that operates scenic and charter flights throughout Tasmania and Australia.  For only $270 up to three people can hop onboard the luxury cirrus with its’ “glass cockpit” (similar technology to the modern jet cockpit) with a moving map display and panoramic vision. Under the careful control of our professional pilots your friends or family can watch the Nanchang be put through its paces before a closer view of a classic warbird in flight. Where We Fy Warbird Flights Tasmania is based at the Launceston Airport.   Our office is in Hangar 14, next to the Tasmanian Aero Club.  We can however offer flights from Hobart and Devonport although these will be either on set days, or with a minimum number of flights booked, or else there would be an extra charge to position the aircraft. We can take tentative bookings for these locations and if sufficient people are also wishing to fly from a location we can co-ordinate a suitable day.  We will also conduct operations from these locations on certain days and will advertise in advance in The Mercury and The Advocate newspapers as appropriate.
